I live at the far western end of Malibu and am in the music, video and film

business. I played in a surf band in the 60's, remember "Wipe Out"? Well, I

have had a colorful career since then and have built a few homes out here.

I still surf (I was nominated to the International Surfing Hall of Fame, see,

there is an award for everything) and sail my Hobie Catamarans. I have some

good projects moving along... One with the Scorpions, a German band I have been

associated with for 14 years.

I've recently become involved in a new venture, Monaco Records with Herman

Rarebell (Scorpions drummer) and Prince Albert. Our first release is coming up

with Dose, a group headed by Gregory Clewley. Gregory wrote 5 songs on Julian

Lennon's new album due out February 18th, 1997.

I grew up in Palos Verdes Estates and moved to Malibu because it still had many

of the qualities PV had in the 50's. It is beautiful and there is a sense of

community here, plus, there is still some open land.

I attended UCLA for a brief period studying ethnomusicology but spent more time

at USC in the film school learning about scoring. I had been doing film music

for a while. I studied entertainment law at their Law School when I became part

of the management team for Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, The Band, Peter Paul and

Mary and several other artists (Todd Rundgren was a part of that experience)

but never took the bar. I took a course offered by the Columbia-Princeton

school of Electronic Music in the late 60's and studied at the Bhulabahai

Institute in Bombay, India, studying Indian music, as the guest of Ravi

Shenkar. I lived in New York for a year, working for MGM, and spent 1 1/2 years

traveling around the world, through 33 different countries photographing and

recording music. I like it here best.

I recently received an award for documentary work I shot with Wilson-Philips

and am currently working on a long form video for the Scorpions. I was the

Executive Producer for104 half hour shows on surfing, over 7 years, that we

edited at CNN.

'So what exactly do you do for a living?' That's what my Dad wants to know.

Nothing, exactly. But I do follow 'the inspiration' and have been able to

survive and enjoy life.

On the ranch, in Malibu, there are 3 pigs (Norma Jean---a gift from Luke

Perry--- Heckle & Jeckle). See, I have enough little piggies to 'go wee, wee,

wee all the way home!' They have their own place down by the stream called

"Grossland" named after my 1,500 pound pig Elvis... karma, you eat like one..

you come back as one! Unfortunately, Elvis has left the building. We are

anxiously awaiting a visit by Diane Fineswine, this being an election year...

and you know how important pork is to politicians. There are 5 cats and an

assortment of birds, i.e., exotic chickens, arucanas, turkeys and guinea fowl.

There are some lovely horse trails and when it is clear you may see 7 islands

from on top of the hill.

I've never been able to find a carpool to go anywhere (consequently I have 4

vehicles) from out here, but then again, it is so nice to live in an

under-populated, spectacularly beautiful area, most of the time.
