Here's a shot of my group in 1968. I brought the guys outside of my studio on
1010 West Temple Street in Downtown LA.
Rob is third from the left with his arms folded.
Left to right- Rick the singer, David Jackson... bass... went on to co-write
"The No No Song" with Hoyt Axton which Ringo recorded and had a hit,
Rob Edwards... lead guitar... our Coyote... Jim Keltner... went on to work with
John Lennon, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones and countless others.... is
currently seen in The Traveling Wilburys... this group led to all that work, and
far right is Craig Doerge who went on to play in The Section which backed James
Taylor, Jackson Brown, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young and is married to Judy
Henske... famous 50's folkie...
The building served as the Western Office of Albert Grossman
Management...basically it was just me and a copy machine and some tape decks. I
handled all the artists when they were west of Mississippi from 1968-72. An
amazing bunch of influential folks came to this building during those years.
Pretty unassuming don't you think... for the office that represented the major
talent of the late 60's and early 70's?... Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, The Band,
Ritchie Havens, Peter Paul and Mary, The Fugs, Gordon Lightfoot, Ian and Sylvia,
Todd Rundgren... and on and on.
